Different Types Of Firewood

Oak is the king of all hard wood firewoods. Oak will burn the longest, one of the cleanest burning woods and has a rich scent.

Eucalyptus may be one of the best values for Southern California firewood selections due to its abundance. It produces high heat and  has a very pleasantly distinctive odor.

Almond and Orange woods are excellent firewoods. Both burn hot and clean similar to oak and also has a very pleasant aroma.

Avocado is soft wood with a relatively low heat value, and little odor. At a good price, it can be one of the best values for winter firewood purchases.

Pine burns best mixed with a hot burning hard wood consequently. Burning straight pine can increase creosote build-up in chimneys. Pine mixed into a nice hot established hardwood fire will give great value and a pleasant scent.
